Fishing
It’s your call. Whether you want to spend a day or two or a week chasing blue, striped, and black marlin, sailfish, swordfish, tuna or wahoo from a cabin cruiser; look for iridescent dorado (mahi-mahi) hanging beneath nearby kelp paddies from an outboard-powered panga; or if you’d prefer to forget a boat altogether and simply cast to exotic roosterfish right from our beach, we have it all.
Around 1940, author John Steinbeck made reference to the Sea of Cortez being the World’s Greatest Fish Trap … and little has changed. We have the largest fleet of 28- to 32-foot big game Cabin Cruisers along with 23-foot Super Pangas … all of them Fish Catchin’ Machines. It’s little wonder that Buena Vista Resort has hosted the Multi-Million Dollar Bisbee East Cape Tournament since 1998.
As for the magic of roosterfish from the beach, see: https://www.nytimes.com/2010/07/31/sports/31roosterfish.html or Google any of the stories on the subject from the leading outdoor publications.
Depending on whether you choose a cruiser, panga or the beach – saltwater flyrod or conventional tackle and the time of year – at Buena Vista Resort, you have an opportunity to catch:
Blue Marlin, Black Marlin, Striped Marlin, Swordfish, Sailfish, Pompano, Bluefin Tuna, Yellowfin, Wahoo, Dorado (Mahi-Mahi), Skipjack, Pargo,Roosterfish, etc
Boats are outfitted with top notch rods, reels, lures and other gear. But it is our captains – our skippers – who are the difference. It’s the reason our clients have won or been highly placed in the Bisbee and other tournaments. Simply put, our guys love to catch fish!
If you have a specific fish on your “need to catch” Bucket List, please discuss it prior to your visit via the Internet with our staff.
